Our event is a little different this year but our desire to provide a quality running experience for our community is always our top priority. We have had to go virtual because of Covid-19 and the unknown circumstances it may create in September. We are offering the opportunity to run your own race, your own way from September 9th to 27th. Just register for a 5km, 10km or 21km distance and you have 19 days to complete the distance to claim your shirt or medal. There is also a FREE registration option with an opportunity to raise some money for the STEGH Foundation and you will receive a charitable receipt.
Masco has generously come on board to be our title sponsor for this year’s race. We are so grateful for their support during this challenging time. The Railway City Tourism and the Elgin Tourism offices have joined forces with us as well to help showcase our community and raise some much needed dollars for the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital and our healthcare heroes.
You will run or walk your race where you want and when you are able during our 19 day event. Please ensure you are applying the rules of the road to your race to stay safe. Be sure to like our Facebook page @railwaycityroadraces and share your photos and favourite running and walking routes and paths around Elgin County. We will be highlighting great places to run and walk all summer long so keep checking in. We hope you will share your favourites too!
Registration closes on September 9th when everyone begins their races. If you choose the 5km, 10km or 21km race options you will have your choice of either a t-shirt or a medal. We will still have a great technical t-shirt available or you can opt for an extra large medal this year to commemorate our Run Across Elgin County. We will preview the shirt and medal in the coming weeks. Our designers are working away at something extra special. We also have a store in the registration process if you would like to purchase a medal, t-shirt or hoodie.
Even though we can’t be together as a group this year we hope to see lots of great photos and stories as we navigate this new adventure together. We do this to keep our running and walking community connected and to support our hospital and our healthcare heroes. We hope to see you in September!
